Alcohol Licensing

The Northwest District Association is the oldest City recognized neighborhood association in Portland. Within the boundaries of our Association, we have in excess of one hundred alcohol licensees - the single densest such concentration (measured with respect to population or land area) in Oregon. We have considerable experience with noise and other public peace problems which trace their source to licensed premises, their patrons and activities relating to their operation in our neighborhood.

Because of this extraordinary density of licensees and our experience, we routinely request that licensees undertake a commitment to preserve the residential livability of our neighborhood. The following document is the vehicle used to make this request.
