Group Homes

I wish to salute Bernie Barmann and his wife for their efforts on this issue. I think enough time has gone by (July 22,2007) for proof to be exhibited as to whether or not these group homes have presented any problems to our community. I haven't heard of any! We also live on Medford Road, not far from the group homes. We MUST have compassion for disabled persons. Where do you suggest they live? On the street? Please examine your values concerning this issue. I volunteered for 17 years at a home for the blind in Pasadena and it was the most rewarding experience in my life! It superceded all benefits from a previous paid job and I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to work with ''disabled persons''. They taught me far more than I ever dreamed. Let's open our hearts to the disabled and thank God that we have OUR health. Thanks, Bernie. You have a very giving heart and deserve many kudos from all of us. Nancy M.
