Plus:  The state (not the feds) have the constitutional right to regulate cutting of trees.  But in doing so, they all seem to ignore the fact that all regulations have unintended negative consequences, often producing a situation worse than the one regulated.  So regulation should not be the first choice, but only a well thought out and last choice.


Fine, I thought the state should make the law too.

If this is your last choice, what are your first, second and third choices.

It is not proper to jump to a solution, before conducting accepted problem analysis/solving procedures.

 

Often in the first step (which is precisely defining the problem), we find that we actually either have no problem, or have no agreement on what the problem actually is.  In defining the problem we must guard against expressing it in terms of a pre-conceived solution.   Many "solutions" are often those searching for a problem.  The definition of a problem does not include the solution.

 

The other steps in the problem analysis/solving procedure can be found on line by those who are energetic and like to do things for themselves, rather than have things handed to them.
