"Regulating the cutting of trees is not in conflict with following the Constitution."

Who in the hell said it was?

Well we agree on something.   I think.   Now can someone explain why the big hullabaloo about regulating cutting trees?   What's the problem with it?

Can we get an answer to this or don't you have one?

As someone already pointed out to you - it is your first reaction that the government should step in and "fix" it. Many persons have notice that when the govt becomes involved, the govt not only doesn't "fix"  a supposed problem, they conduct some out-of-sight expensive "study" while making the wheels of progress grind to a halt. In the end, most times, the so-called problem  works itself out and again, the govt has wasted a million or two of taxpayers dollars. That, msmal, is the problem with regulating cutting trees.

Yeh, what he said

Plus:  The state (not the feds) have the constitutional right to regulate cutting of trees.  But in doing so, they all seem to ignore the fact that all regulations have unintended negative consequences, often producing a situation worse than the one regulated.  So regulation should not be the first choice, but only a well thought out and last choice.

We don't need a study.   We need somebody to introduce it in the legilature, debate it, vote for it and have the governor sign it.
