Muscatine

Greetings all

You're making me feel old.  Woolworth's started downtown on 2nd as well as JC Penny.  I remember the mall coming in back in the 70's, it was always maintained unlike it is now.

If you need an obstacle course, try driving out behind the mall. They fixed up the parking lot in front by the new store so I am hoping they will do something to improve that area.

There's a little antique store on Park Avenue that used to be Lupe's Tacos.  They had a large combo plate that was fantastic.

Hey, Fox...I remember when that place was Stan's Place. Nigel, my (first) wife worked at Pamida in 73. It must have come in a few years before that, but it was called Gibsons when it first opened. Before that, she worked a couple years at the Holiday Station store on G-view Ave. (Now a machine shop)

Stan's Place is a name I don't recall.  Was it a bar?

I believe Gibsons changed to Pamida-Gibson after a few years.

When we first moved to town, my wife worked at Amys, a clothing store in the mall.  I remember Woolworths/Wal-Mart on the east end, but can't recall what the anchor store was on the west, where Younkers now resides.  I know it was a Staples, but not for long.
