Back in town after a nice trip east.  I see things are still hopping here, but miss seeing posts from old regulars like Jeff and Nedl.

Question for the home-towners.....the old Pamida store.  How long was it in business?  Same for Jacks.  It doesn't seem they were here for long.  Do you remember when Hy-Vee was in the mall?  Remember when the mall was full?  My kids used to love the pet and toy stores.

Nigel!!....good to hear you're back.  Hope all went well in Baltimore.  As you can tell, it's been quite active here, although not great numbers involved.  I have a feeling the bickering has driven a few away, but there's always hope that regulars will return.

Regarding your inquiry......I'm guessing, but it seems like Pamida had a run of a few years.  Jacks a bit longer.  I do recall the mall Hy-Vee, and in my head can still find things better in the old store (currently Walgreens) than in the new place, although I do like the new store alot.  I enjoyed the mall, especially during the holidays.

How about Ken's pizza, where Kentucky Fried Chicken is now located?  Pitcher and a pizza for under 10$.

Hy-Vee used to be inside the mall adjacent to where menards used to be. Remember when Woolworth's was where menards used to be and then Wal-Mart? A lot more changes than we thought huh?

You're making me feel old.  Woolworth's started downtown on 2nd as well as JC Penny.  I remember the mall coming in back in the 70's, it was always maintained unlike it is now.
