FAA puts sleeping controllers on suspension

Posted in: Muscatine

With the federal government running air traffic control, there is no consequence for poor management other than to the flying public and the private airlines.  If the air traffic control was privatized, as it is in Canada, there would be improvement through competition, and real consequences to those in charge in the case of screw ups.

Msmal sure comes up with some cockeyed answers. I think it is that old saying - ignorance is . . .

I love management's reply to this issue. I quote, "we won't sleep until we solve this issue". #41#

You do realize that "management" in this case, is the Federal Government, right?????   The same clowns that want to run our health care.

I think the unions would prefer better shift management.   Not have a day shift and a night shift so close together.

Are they allowed to negotiate those working conditions?

Maybe that would take more employees which some would be against.

Or maybe we should reduce staff and just shut down the aiports at night.

I just read today, one of the sleepers did an 8 hour day shift and after two hours sleep did an 8 hour night shift.   That's poor staff management and a recipe for disaster.
