"What would libertarians – even conservatives – give today in order to return to an era in which the central government extracted 1% of the nation's wealth? Where there was no income tax? Would they describe such a society as tyrannical?"

When, after many battles past,
Both, tired with blows, make peace at last,
What is it, after all, the people get?
Why! Taxes, widows, wooden legs and debt.

—Samuel B. Pettengill

Good for Lindsay Lohan. She tweeted: "Have you guys seen food and gas prices lately? U.S. dollar will soon be worthless if the Fed keeps printing money!"

"Every day more Americans are hearing the truth for the first time. Its power is irresistible. The revolution is underway. Whether it takes a year, a decade, or longer, liberty is going to prevail."

"The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation." -Barack H. Obama

Would you be surprised if the "humanitarian" war in Libya was really about propping up the dead dollar? link do the research and see how many countries have switched to gold and/or silver link, link

"The War Party has lost the intellectual battle – and it’s just a matter of time before they lose the political battle as well. The wind is in the sails of the USS Isolationist, which might be renamed the USS Tea Partier – Captain Ron Paul at the wheel." via Antiwar.com.

"The Establishment uses “extremism” as a bromide. It provides a comfortable escape from those realities that most Americans are not ready to face. That the entire edifice of our society is built upon legalized theft is one of them."
Jimmy Carter, the least-bad ex-president of my lifetime—recently in trouble for telling some truths about the Middle-East—now criticizes the monstrous war on drugs. link, carter on isreal

As a result of the Dodd-Frank Act enacted by US Congress, a new regulation prohibiting US residents from trading over the counter precious metals, including gold and silver, will go into effect on Friday, July 15, 2011. in a free country sure we're still free. there is a lot of bans in place for a free country!

"As the Fed's debasement of the currency reaches literally unprecedented levels, more and more regular Americans are waking up to the merits of commodity money."

"Raw milk is a competitor, however small, to the big corporate and co-op companies that dominate the milk industry. Big Dairy is a powerful special-interest group that is well funded and well organized to maintain its government subsidies."

The famous hacker group Anonymous has issued "Ctrl+Alt+Bernanke," says Addison Wiggin. link, link

Ron Paul is the champion of liberty, as he says, and of decency too. But when I look at the others, I think: politicians are the scum of the earth. The idea that those who scheme for power over the rest of us should be able to get it, to loot and to kill with impunity, if they can buy and fool enough boobs to vote for them, is by itself a sufficient argument for anarchism.

"Expecting insight about the economy from Barack Obama is like hoping to learn about Paul Revere from Sarah Palin."

"The state does not want its subjects to be self-sufficient, self-educated, and gaining power through knowledge. Because knowledge is power - the power to question conventional wisdom and reject conformity is a blessed thing for individuals and society, but it is a menace to the authoritarians and conformists."  The government's war on raw milk is not only a war on freedom, but it is also a jihad against that old-fashioned (and very obsolete) notion that your health is your responsibility.

We need monetary freedom more than anything else. The way digital markets are advancing, it might come about with or without Washington's permission. As Ron Paul has always known, paper money cannot last. Either it has to go, or the American dream has to go. They cannot forever live side by side.

"The world is set up today so that you don’t vote for the person, you vote for the party. And it’s the parties that control the government. We were warned by John Adams that that would be the downfall of America." I.E. republicans and democrats are destorying America!  link

Ron Paul is up against some real sociopathic narcissists. link

The real federal debt is $62 trillion, $534,000 per household. Default! The people “owed” this money have no moral claim on the assets of the victims, anymore than the state itself does  link

"The president's attack on Libya was unconstitutional and thus unlawful. This policy must be reversed," says Ron Paul.

"To arrive at greater freedom, one has to have the freedom to remove the manacles imposed by a government that presumes to be the government for all. One has to be able to opt out of government laws. One has to be able to secede personally from a government."

In every election cycle, the politicians love to pretend there is a difference among them on the foreign policy questions. Yet on these issues of unsurpassed importance, we see the Democrats and Republicans are all part of the same bloodthirsty gang."

"Yes, we should pray for the troops. But what should we pray? How about praying that the troops come home where they belong or that Christian families stop supplying cannon fodder to the military?"

"I will not raise my precious child to kill your precious child.
And if it is within my power, I will
not hand over my beloved child to others
...to kill your beloved child, or
to learn how to kill the one you cherish."

–Fr. Emmanuel Charles McCarthy.

Rights and liberties must be reclaimed by the people themselves, and the spark that makes this happen is reversing the conditions that permitted the rise of statism. The people must lose their gullibility through ideological enlightenment, and they must lose their sense of fear that the world will fall apart if the tyrant is not in control.

"Congress remains in total denial as our liberties are rapidly fading before our eyes. The process is propelled by unwarranted fear and ignorance as to the true meaning of liberty. It is driven by economic myths, fallacies and irrational good intentions." -Ron Paul link

"Independent thought is not a concept with which very many Americans are familiar or comfortable."

"Those who stand to lose the most under a president who would not compromise the peoples' liberties, the Constitution or the rule of law for any reason are deathly afraid of Ron Paul."  Ron Paul is no anarchist, but his vision on how to restore America is more or less spot-on. Will you support him? And how?

"We’re gonna punish our enemies and we’re gonna reward our friends who stand with us on issues that are important to us." -Barack Hussein Obama, Gangster-in-Chief

“You know who the real public enemy number 1 is? It’s Osama Bin Bernanke. This guy is devaluing the money in front of our eyes!”

If you answered "A" 10 times or more...

You are a total news-watching, gullible fairytale swallowing Sheeple! Be sure to keep taking those medications and watching more network news. Don't bother thinking for yourself because you seem to be incapable of accomplishing that.

If you answered "A" fewer than 10 times...

You are sadly Sheeple-minded but there is hope for your rescue. Learn more about the world around you and train yourself to think critically so you can depart from the herd mentality.

"The year 1776 marked America’s victory in the War for Independence."

When it starts with a mistake like that, I see no point in reading further.

It's like Bachman or Palin on history.

stilling waiting for you to explain this!!! so you are saying we didn't win our independence on july 4 i776!

The last military engagement was at Yorktown where Cornwallis surrendered on Oct. 19, 1781.

The British Commons voted to end the war in April 1782

The peace treaty was signed on Sept. 3, 1782

The last British troops left New York on Nov. 25, 1783

Congress ratified the treaty on Jan. 14, 1784

Pick which one you think represented "victory", it was not July 4, 1776.

Once again I have someone picking the article instead of reading it. mal the statement is about our independence from control not wars! but acourse like most on here you assumed what the article was about. Why don't we celebrate the end of the revolutionary war, because the victory was in the creating of a republic free from british control which happened on July 4, 1776 which would make that statement correct. so why do we not celebrate the end of the revolutionary war mallory if that is the victory for which you speak!!!!

oops  if you would take the time to read the article you would see that it's about restoring the government through the constitution back to it's orginal form of a republic government without violence! To rid our country of the chains from banks, corporation and foreign ties.

Mobay, when I type in "victory" my dictionary comes back with, "an act of defeating an opponent in a battle or contest".

Mobay, when I type in "victory" my dictionary comes back with, "an act of defeating an opponent in a battle or contest".

I goofed and hit post too soon.

No independence from control was achieved on July 4th 1776.
There was no free republic created.

There was only an act to begin the process.   It wasn't assured until the British left the new U. S. and signed the treaty.

I did not read the entire article because it started on false premise.

Why we don't celebrate the end of the Revolutionary war, I don't know.

It's the same with Viet Nam, Korea, The Spanish American, Our Civil, Mexican, 1812, and a whole bunch of smaller ones.

We do celebrate the end of WWI, which we've kind of morphed into a celebration of the end all wars, and the end of WWII gets a little play.

I think most of the others don't have the stature of the two WW's or the reasons for them are less defensible.

Some, a lot of us would rather not talk about.
