Good snowy mornin there Chosen and others. Up again whippin up some Orange fudge, pettifores, and my VERY favorite! marshmallow fudge, and some torts, while posting between mixes and the TIMER! bell.
We are going to St. Louis this year and I have to get done with a hatch-load of goodies for the whole crowd. My daughter in-law is making that wonderful Pumpkin Roll you might have read about? So once again, gas prices are an issue for us too. Our van doesn't do too poorly, but if prices hold where they are, we'll be alot better off than last year. But with that, i must say i cannot see why anyone is tying these prices to our newly elected president. Oh I'm the first to see that the oil industry loves to use about any excuse in and out of the book to raise prices. My Mr. says they might as well say that the lack of huge numbers of Monarch Butterflies has caused a surge in prices. Or here's a good one, the sporadic migration of the Tufted Titmouse is the reason. Or this one, too many people are wearing velcro strapped shoes! Yup, it's a safe bet that sooner or later, they WILL be slapping us with another lame excuse. But I highly doubt it will have anything to do with Obama specifically. The OPEC horde are already planning another production cut thanks to their GREED. They want it at 75.00 a barrel. All we Americans need to do is continue to cut back, demand electrics, super efficient engines, and stop patronizing these "greedy oil boys" Unless we must drive, We(me and Mine) no longer take those Sunday drives and for some time now, we buy more of those needed things at once than we use to.
I'd like to believe that with alternatives, efficiency, and conservation as proposed by Obama, we might actually see that he has a positive affect on prices rather than the negative stated here. Look at what happens when we do all of those things, prices fall and they fall rather soon. My gracious goodness, what will the greedy scum of oil boys do with all that extra oil. What Americans don't buy and use up, just gets left in the wells and sits there until it's needed. That is ALL a positive thing. Major changes need to be made if we are to show these profiteers we mean business. That we will not be keeping them in their Rolls Royce's and golden palaces in the sand any longer. If Obama is able and this Congress has the sense, it will get done. And, finally we can get out from under this century old carbon crisis of oil and those super rich scum keeping us hostage. I just fail to see how the greed and power wielded by these oil barons has anything to do with Obama, unless he hasn't the sense needed to get the job done. It is high time we Americans, with the largest economy in the world stand up and say NOOOOOO MORE! There are other ways and WE WILL use them! We must change as well if this is to become a honest business. Lets give this man a fair chance?
God Bless.
