Zowie...."white elitist conservative vile and hate".  Why Mr. West, as Mr. Copachosied has said, it's all fun and games here.  Settle down.  He has no qualms about throwing around the "H" word.....get on the bandwagon!

Ho ho ho and nothing regarding worshiping if you consider the lack of success. These partisan bent comments fail to go deep enough to fairly contest that notion.

Nada senior' I gave Mr Carter the pluses for his efforts, thwarted by the dems in congress who, if considering that he was their president too, didn't like much of anything he proposed out of greed and cronyism. Reason for pause to consider him anything but a decent president. Remaining Central and always will be, I had to give the man more credit for at least tyring to take an already bad situation handed him, as the next president will be doing,  and attempt to correct the measures and missteps that took us there- then as now. And today,  a meager two years without veto authority doesn't give any congress honest control, unlike they had while Carter was in office. If we are to pin a tag of "second best" Carter was well ahead of the congress that served him and WE THE PEOPLE, and by a large measure wasn't given the had he needed, as Hoover wasn't with his Congress of his term and the thirties.

I get so upset (stay with me here)at the notion that FDR was such a wonderful president. FDR was about the most plagiaristic, womanizing, backward thinking, man to take hold of those reins. It took nearly 16 years for folks to feel the reality of those changes and even then it took the activities of WW2 to soften the blows of depression. But the people were fed up (as now) hungry, broke, unemployed and thirsty for at least some sign of help, and saw our war movement as needed, (finally) and the industrial salvation? the final -first step, even an honest step to recovery. Poor Hoover didn't stand a chance, though he was actually more instrumental in our recovery than he was EVERgiven credit for. All I said regarding Carter then, was that given the time needed, we would likely have seen a different Carter than the one we malign today. A good man with many terrific ideas that proves " then as now, the "voters"don't always make the smartest choices. I would hesitate to use the phrase regarding "We the people respectfully disagree re: 1980 election" as any indication that the voters had a clue then any more than they do now. Nope, Carter is still near the top when honestly considered.

God Bless.
