Do you suppose if we all didn't show up, they'd just have to start all over again.  Or would we be punished by having John Edwards appointed as acting president, aided by Al Gore and Bill Clinton, with a cabinet of Pullmyfinger (Sec. of Emissions), Chosied (Sec. of Bumbling), MobeyDave (Sec. of Rambling), Staunchy (Sec. of Ethics),  and Ms. Treat (Secretary of Old Hen Windy Economic stuff).  Ned....you'll be acting Sec. of Crotchety, and Big Brother will oversee all as Sec. of Any-darned-thing-I-like.  As for me....I just want to hang out with Sarah Palin.  Jeff.....need a Sec. of Humor...interested in the job?

Oh, I agree she would be fun to hang with, but I am not comfortable with her becoming prez when J Mc has the big one.

As for Sec of Humor, yeah, that would be a cool post. (Post... get it, we are on NL.  Post... forget it, if you have to explain them they are no good.)

I have decided that I am thankful that there are only two more days to election as my trash can runneth over with political ads.

Hope ya got the clocks set back. Hard to get passed that change at times, especially if it had been a gloomy cold and wet day. How did your Halloween go? I had a good time talking with one of my nieces after you wrote of your hilarious "It" character. She has beautiful long hair as you described yours. We get to talking about "things" Jeannie just loves my spiced pumpkin Swiss style roll and has lost the old Thanks Giving standard recipe. I tell you, if you like pumpkin you would just love this roll. I like to add a little lemon for tang, and do not be afraid to use a little extra cream of tarter. I'd be happy to list the recipe if you wish? I don't eat any these days with my sugar score. Jeannie said that she actually saw a full size costume of the same quality, glasses and a hat. I don't recall the many specifics of the old tv show, but it sure did draw some early tv memories.

The vote? There have been so many in the past as now, express dissapointment in those who... like you, and many others, myself included. Have no desire to place a vote in favor of "The lesser of two evils." I have lamented before how many, many years ago, my grandfather and my father were challenged by a few of those fellow farmers back when.............that called him everything but "a white man." for not envisioning himself voting for either of the chum buckets nominated. Grandad put it this way. (Paraphrasing because my memory is short a few cells) "If you do not understand that voting is a right, a privilege, not a law or requirement to be a part of America and still have the gall to complain. Then YOU pay my income taxes, You pay my property taxes, YOU seed, tend, and harvest my crop. You. feed my family, YOU pay my school district taxes, YOU fill my tank, YOU paint my buildings, mend my fences, and medicate my children and stock and.....for once THINK ABOUT IT........Don't offer a man two poison apples and then get upset because he won't eat either of em."

So Fraz, one can agree with those of you who decide to take the "write in." we can agree with those who choose McCain or Obama, we can agree with those who..... with reason not to feel good enough about either candidate to choose one at all. If we didn't have that choice? Well, that's a horse of a different color, but we have that choice. There is no reason to debate it as our right. "Our right" says it all. Yes we are a Republic, that is true, but even GW understands that democracy is what allows a republic to exist in it's correct Representative form.  that is, Unless we would rather have 50 kings and the supreme emperor of North America.(extreme but not impossible the way we are headed) 

This experiment has lasted now over 232 years. Though it has been whittled toward an imperialistic slant lately, we still have a chance to turn the tide. "In a Capitalist society the only real problem within...... is Capitalists, they are too damn greedy." And the only way for those greedy capitalists to maintain that greedy hold on most of the the wealth and all the power, is to twist our democratic arm toward an Imperialist/Socialistic form with oligarchs at the controls. One can imagine a huge fish on a hook, with a dozen progressively smaller fish in it's belly. With that, the only way we have to show our democratic strength is to vote them out. But when an entire nation is here and now so confused, it's not hard to understand why we the people could say" We cannot vote for either of these fish."
