Ever notice, the liberal 'crat kids pound on your door and demand you share your wealth of candy. Conservative republican kids simply accept whatever you offer. lol.

DF... I loved your post! My grandaughter was in your neighborhood & I know she said Thank you! We also had some very sweet & polite visitors! I don't care about the older kids w/out costumes. Doggone it, it's hard to grow up & leave our childhood behind. Personally, I love it when I see the older ones bringing younger siblings & joining in on the fun. We HAVE to grow up soon enough, don't we? Fun is a kid's middle name AND IT SHOULD BE! Who are we to say when their childhood ends? HERE IS MY ISSUE! The parents' that bring their newborn/ young babies to the door. YEAH, that leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I have pennies set aside for them & their parents. I live on a street that everyone visits. We buy $50.00 worth of candy, (& a roll of pennies). When it is gone, it is gone. That doesn't stop me from loving it while it lasts! What great memories! Thanks for your positive input! It was great! |

TLOU, I remember one year we were down a Grandma O Dell's for halloween. I remember they were running low on candy so Aunt Irene said the next kid that came along she was going to reach in the bag like she was putting candy in, but really was going to take some out to replenish the supply. Shortly there was a knock at the door and Irene answered ready to swipe some candy and it was my sister. Everyone got a laugh out of that. You had to watch those crazy aunts, they were tricky. I remember going to halloween parties at aunt Irene's also. They were fun. |
