But that was the point I was trying to make....apparently not very well. I DON'T believe all of these things, but some of them are not conspiracy theories at all, they are just fact.
As for the beers, the Schell Oktoberfest is a nice, slightly sweet dark. I had to go to Minnesota to get it though.

Minnesota? That's one hell of a beer run. Although, for an Oktoberfest it might be worth it. If you'd like to stay close to home you should try the Boulevard Oktoberfest. The Sam Adams Oktoberfest is really nice too. I tried a Fuller's London Pride a few weeks ago. Highly recommended!
