Cats at Luthern Homes

Posted in: Muscatine

As far as I can remember Lutheran Homes has always had a few cats running around. My grandma lived there from 1999-2004 and there were cats then also. I would assume if someone with allergies lived there, they would have to get rid of them, but to get rid of them because the cat prefered a particular resident is extrememly wrong.

To get rid of them due to alergy would be a legitimate health reason. To get rid of them because you can't stand them and your hate of them takes priority over another person in their waning years of life finding comfort and enjoyment in them would make you an a$$

More to the story!  The cats are aging and as with many of their home residentds there blader ain't what it use to be.  and the situation was unsanitary for our grandmother and grand father.  These cats went to homes of the staff so they were as displaced as little as possible.  They went to homes that truly cared for them.  One of the staff members has volintiered to bring her cat out to these residents to spend as much lap time as possible.  this situation may at this time be the best for thr residents as wellas the cats.  No a$$es involved its trying to decide what is best for both.  Besides Lutheren homes has no more "issues" than any oyher care center I've ever delt with.(6!)

I'm not being rude, but curious MIL, but doesn't a lot of elderly people have bladder problems too? How could they tell the urine came from the cat?
