Democratic presidential contender Barack Obama promises to "cut taxes for 95 percent of American workers." That's not possible.

Why? More than 30 percent pay nothing in federal income taxes. Obama comes up with this number by calling tax credits "tax cuts." One can debate whether these things are good or bad, but they are not tax cuts. McCain offers refundable tax credits for health care, as well as other credits, but he doesn't insult the intelligence of the American people by calling them "tax cuts." When Obama's credits go to people who pay no federal income taxes or who pay less than the value of the credit, they are not "tax cuts." They are transfers of money from one pocket to another, or redistributions of wealth, but they are not tax cuts.

Who you chose to vote for is your own personal choice.  Illinois as a state is completely anti-gun.  Why would you expect Obama to waver from the States position?  Maybe Obama's votes on gun control stem from the congressional district he was representing as a legislator in Illinois.  Have you ever been to Cabrini Green?  How about any of the lower south side slums and ghettos where Obama was the people's legislator.  Why don't you take a stroll down into these areas and scream aloud what you profoundly professed on your blog?  Will you?  Of course you won't!  It's so much easier to do so from the relative safety behind your keyboard.

The fact remains we don't need more guns on the street in the hands of thugs and career criminals.  Any street.  Obama doesn't diminish the fact that we all have 2nd Amendment rights.  We are faced with devastating and horrific times ahead of us.  The Wall Street meltdown is just the tip of the iceberg.  Do you actually want gangs of whites, blacks, latinos, asians, etc. roaming the streets with AK-47's, M-16's, M-4's and every other kind of assault rifle known to man such as they have done in Somalia, Darfur, and yes, even Iraq?  The idea is to maintain some type of semblance of law and order.  Not kick down your door and take away your right to bear arms.

This is just another fallacy of fear the conservatives wish everyone to believe.  Use your head.  As many firearms that are owned in this country who do you believe the true military might belongs to?  The people of the United States.  There is nothing Obama can do to rob you of your rights.  You have the weapons to keep any such thing from happening.

95% of American workers are those who are legal Americans.  The 30% you relate to are the illegal aliens.  If you are to believe NewsMax, Fox News, Blimbaugh, the illegals are now returning back across the border because jobs are becoming more and more scarce what with the economic situation.  McCain offers a $5,000 tax credit to purchase your own insurance with no guarantees the insurance companies must cover pre-existing conditions.  So your argument on those points fall way short of correct as well.

Imagine that, a democrat who wants to take away our guns. God forbid law abiding citizens should be allowed to protect themselves.

staunchly, you of course realize that the criminals are NOT getting thier guns legally. With that said if u liberals ban guns the criminals will STILL HAVE THEM! do u think they will give innocent people the chance to call the cops to protect them? not likely. By banning guns good people lose the right to defend themselves.

What is it inside of a liberals head, that causes rational thought process to stop altogether when guns are mentioned. Here recently i saw a news story about  an arizona college student , who shot and killed 2 men who made the attempt to break in to this young mans home with the intentions of doing harm to him, because they believed someone else lived there. The 2 men both career criminals HAD guns!

According to liberals is perfectly "OK" to kill a fetus, but god FORBID an innocent person be allowed to keep a gun to protect themselves against a criminal, that has no regard for life or the law! 

My newest neighbor just moved here from chicago, he stated he lived in an area of town where the cops WONT EVEN GO!, So how do the innocent people that live in those areas protect themselves against criminals when the cops who are hired to do it, wont protect them?

I'm all for any idea that takes guns out of the hands of criminals, as long as it doesnt infringe on my right to protect my family.
