Oh heavens boys,
There has to be some common ground to at least seem civil. Trying times indeed are facing us all. Just wish the candidates would stop telling us that which we already know, and get to the fixin part.
As a life long independant(long) I find errors in both camps. McCain gets first strike. 29 years in office, 90% favorable Bush votes, Keating Five, 8 mega-super-important energy votes arbitrarily missed. (all set negatively for big oil) and tax breaks galore for the wealthiest 10%. Fails us all. Doesn't know piddly about our economic infrustructure and cannot use a computer( even at my age I got that one down). But..........."Mighty Mac" a fairly good politician though, is a solid leader militarily. No doubt he could lead us into battle should that be needed(again) and perhaps take us out of the blasted beasty one were still in. By no means is McCain a dummy. Who knows. He actually has a fairly workable insurance plan, unless you live in a region like the north east. He's way off that $5,800.00 mark there at least. More like 12-$15,000.00. Mid West premiums average $7,000.00. But no matter how close the premiums are, it leaves a family dead in the water regarding, drugs, co-pays, prosthesis, out-patient care, catastrophic long term needs, (even with good coverage that is outlandish) this that and the other thing.
Obama remains an enigma to many. He's left us feeling he's a little wet behind the ears, one term in the senate, attourney status type. He's got some (unproven as harmful) meager associations, he's super-man strength liberal, oh yeah, he could have a second birth certificate, and he's never seen a battle outside an election. But........he sees from the standpoint of nearly 90% of Americans who support this nation. He's of a higher intellect than McCain, he has a workable tax plan(unless you are very wealthy) his insurance plan actually could work unless the global depression does come. He's well within his limitations regarding militarism and his diplomatic understanding far outpaces his oponent.
Then we must with all due respect address the "could be" they both selected as V.P. ....Gov. Palin is a modern woman with strength and conviction. Acheived status as mayor and vaulted to Gov. Though not before leaving teeny weency Wassila broke and inspite of turning the funding down for the "bridge to nowhere" actually began the funding charge to build it. Also, Gov. of one of the least populated states in the nation(no offense) and did(no arguments here now) abuse her authority as Gov. That is impeachable even in Alaska. Has no problem telling us gals that SHE decides for God here on earth(reading between the lines)how best for a woman to deal with ANY type of pregnancy. Rape/incest/dire physical consequences, doesn't matter to her. She said: "She would counsel that mother to be." while going full term becuase no woman has the right to decide for herself. The government does. For a "true Christian" she obviously didn't listen in sunday school. It's up to us and God to deal with our personal sins. Salvation is a gift.. not a ticket that must be sold and punched by Palin. As for Biden, just look at the lefty experience that man has. He's got a fantastic smile, but he has the brain-power just as bright. Is he a good diplomat? Does he understand the strength needed to lead our military? Does he get what 90% of Americans are suffering? I think so. So with that, Gov. Palin does not get my "faith" Pun intended.
In conclusion: Regardless of the man/woman in the oval office, I think we can all agree that the worst of our pain has yet to be fully revealed to Americans and the world. "OPEC stands poised to spoil our lowering energy costs," thay said today. The market and banking system has finally been realized, it's an overly under-regulated wash. If we all have homes by this time next year I'd be surprised. The global terror we are all facing that has indeed worsened since March 2003, is getting worse. Our military has been streatched to it's limits unless we recruit more fearless young men and women. Our air, water, and food sources are deteriorating more within every report. Our planet is heating to a critical percentage, and our already jobless core is being overun by illegal intruders. Our leaders are hapless clowns who refuse to- JUST DO WHAT WE ALL KNOW MUST BE DONE. And, if we are ever going to see the light at the end of the tunnle, we MUST stand together again and right those wrongs that have put us where we are. Stop fighting and band together. If you listen closely, you can almost hear our founding fathers spinning in their boxes. It isn't too late even out our tax farce, to return the banking undustry to a true gold standard, pop the corporate baloon and cut golden parachute strings. To close our trade loopholes and bring our jobs back. To correct our alternative energy mistakes, to stop selling our ANS Oli to Japan and China, to dig safer and burn cleaner coal, to build an average car to get 50 MPG. or better, Build mor rail and electric cars, to use all that powerful solar roof-top energy on nearly every home, to harness the winds at every pole for nearly every home, to let the earth's heat warm and cool our homes along with ocean waves, and design a better reactor with less dangerous waste. No sirs, it is not too late........... So on the 4th, follow your head insated of your hearts. The 2 party system doesn't work. Though most already know who they'll be choosing and wouldn't change if Christ himself asked, Think about what to do if we are wrong....again. Not yet, it isn't too late.
God bless.
