My wife and i were outside last night, talking with a friend. Our neighbor came walking up and was talking to us about the RTL vigil at city hall last night. She said it was an emotional experience.
She cares for her 16 yr old grandson who is mentally challenged. She was telling us that when her daughter found out that there was something wrong with her unborn child everyone told her to have an abortion. They are very strong christians and that for them was not an option.
I am pro choice, although i do NOT support abortion. My stance on the issue since it has been political for so long is the government should never have the right to tell you what you can or cant do with your own body.
With that said, i would love to hear peoples thoughts and reasonings for thier opinions. Afterall if you dont ask questions you never learn anything right?
What if someone found out that the child they were carrying would be born mentally challenged, knowing that they couldnt care for the child and the child would end up in an institution , would an abortion be a better alternative?
I have heard stories many many years ago about the one in Mount Pleasant, with orderlys' being mean to the people there, Wouldnt an abortion be a better solution than a child being treated like an animal its whole life?
Just curious as to peoples thoughts on this topic.
