I feel your pain...  I've had a similar experience...  Don't forget about Ned and Jim in Riverside.  They used to be dealers before BMW decided they weren't pretty enough.  While they can't do warranty work they can do most everything else.  Nice guys with free popcorn! 

There used to be a small dealer in Rock Island.  I haven't been there for a few years but I bet they are still around.  I thought there was one in DesMoines too.

Whoops, that was a Ducati dealer dealer I was thinking of in DesMoines, I have been to the one in Rock Island though.  Good luck finding some better service
