I recently had my BMW motorcycle serviced at Gina's BMW in Iowa City and I believe I was charged twice the amount that I should have paid. At least that is what I believe and what three other authorized BMW dealers have said. According to the other dealers it should have been a two hour job at the most yet I ended up paying for four hours of service. Not a big deal unless you take into account the rate is $69.00 per hour. Anyways, if you have a minor service due you should get a service manual and perform it yourself. If you need major work done, it would probably be worth the time and money to make a trip to the BMW dealer in Chicago. I personally would not go back to Gina's. If anyone has any questions let me know.

Maybe there was two people working on the bike??????????????????????

Or maybe ask next time what the rate is and how much time it will take.

I know I got taken by a Muscatine computer dealer/service store for $45.

I took my system out of town before they could do any real damage.

What was the service work? Dealers use a flat rate from the manufacturer. If you can aford a Beemer you surley can aford the service cost! I only wish that I had that problem!

Not all dealers use a flat rate from the manufacturer. Many only charge the hourly rate for the amount of time spent working on the bike.  And just being able to afford something doesn't mean that you should be willing to waste money for excessive service rates and paying for time that the bike was not actually worked on. Hopefully someday you can afford to have this problem. Thanks for responding.
