I read most of the posts here, agree with some and disagree with some.

Due to health issues and some other issues that I will not discuss at this time I refrain from getting in the political arguments. However this thought has come to mind so I will throw it out there for your thoughts because some days I have lots of time to think.

If John McCain is the maverick, he says he is why did he pick Sara Paylin as his running mate ? In thinking about this he needed the Conservativerepublicans and the independent  votes to win this election as I feel this is his last chance to win the presidency.

If elected he can do about anything he wants depending on the political out come of the house & senate. He does not need Sara Palin in any shape or form as he will be the chief and commander selecting anyone to serve from any party he chooses. If he does a good job he has a real good chance of getting reelected with any running mate he chooses.

Ok the floor is yours and I thank you for your time.

Kenn,

I think a lot of people were surprised that McCain picked Palin, but there it is.  In my opinion, there were better choices out there.  Senator Kay Hutchison from Texas was probably the one everyone expected if he chose a woman, so Palin was a surprise to everyone.  They keep her on a tight leash though, she hasn't been able to campaign on her own yet.  I sure hope they're comfortable with her as 2nd in command if McCain wins this election.

So no, I don't know the answer to your question, but it's sure going to be interesting over the next 7 weeks!  I'm anxious to watch the debates.

Good to see you posting...I think about you and your family often, and hope for the best for you.

Take care,

Lil

Kenn,

Take care,

I'll second that.

Not campaign on her own yet? She's all over news and talk shows. I'd have to say her campaigning started the minute the announcement was made. I would also note that her public service started back in around 92; definitely a dedicated public servant. She, herself, has more public service time than even obama.
