Nedl & others, just so ya know.....(I had smiley central years ago, and it did end up really screwing up my computer)

Smileycentral is adware and a browser and search engine hijacker. It is also a software bundler. Installing SmileyCentral also installs 13 other programs all which start with Windows. This causes problem with your computer as the "FunWebProducts" bundle uses up your computer resources.

Additionally, SmileyCentral/FunWebProducts, has a 7000+ word End User License Agreement which is a legally binding contract. By installing the software you are bound to the terms of this agreement. This agreement hides a lot of questionable practices - it is longer than the U.S. Constitution and longer even than Microsoft Windows License Agreement.

You'd be wise to avoid installing this bundle on your computer. It will ruin your web searches, hijack your preferred home page, use up your computer resources, display ads, and leave your computer open to new software installations without your permission.

Please read more about FunWebProducts/SmileyCentral/Ask.com (Ask Jeeves) by visiting this page:

http://thundercloud.net/infoave/answers/...

Also see Ben Edelman's article about the Ask Tool Bar (which is the same as the MySearch/MyWebSearch/MyTotalSearch toolbar installed with the FunWebProducts/SmileyCentral adware/hijacker bundle). Visit http://www.benedelman.org/ for some really good information about spyware, adware, hijackers, software bundles, and other nefarious software that trick users into installing it by misrepresenting themselves and using the word "FREE".

SmileyCentral/FunWebProducts spends tens of millions of dollars promoting SmileyCentral. Do you really think they'd spend this kind of money just to give you something free - if they weren't going to make a fortune by hijacking your browser, your search engine and injecting ads into your searches and making them look like search results?

Learn all you can about this kind of trickery. Once they get you hooked, it's not so easy to get this stuff off your computer. And if you don't get it off your computer, you could be spending $100.00 or more to get your computer repaired. The longer you leave this sort of software on your computer, the more chance there is that damage to your operating system will force you into a format of your hard drives and a reinstallation of Windows just to get your computer back to normal.

That's a very high price to pay for "Free Smileys", don't you think?
