SmileI was very pleased with MPW, even though we did not get connected until after 7 P.M. Monday evening. They had the whole city to fix and there alwasy has to be a beginning and an end. How thoes worker kept cool heads I'll nvere know! At times they were bombarded with people wanting to know why their electric was out for so long. I wanted to go up to some of these people and tell them to leave the crew alone and let them do their jobs! I don't know how many trucks or crew MPW has but I feel they done a very very good job, and if I could I would throw a big party for them. Smile THANK YOU MPW!! Smile

I don't post here anymore, but I am amazed at how quickly power was restored given all the damage and downed lines and damaged transformers.

Today we had some water issues in our neigborhood and I can't tell you how great MPW workers were. They were here minutes after I called and were wonderful. They went door to door, explaining the problem and what they were doing to correct it.

And, not only MPW workers, but the city workers who have worked so hard this summer cleaning up from floods and now this. These people put in long hours and I doubt many of us even think about the mess we'd be in if they weren't out there clearing the streets as quickly as they did.

They all have my thanks and appreciation. Tomorrow I'm sending postcards to MPW and to the street department thanking them for what they do...how about you?

I agree that we need to express appreciation to the worker how have come to our rescue.  I e-mailed the manager of the compost center and thanked them for extended hours.  Now if we can get the citizens to do their part.  I can't believe the number of people who do not tie down their loads and drop brush all over the streets.   As crowded as the compost center was there were a few jerks driving like they were on a race track. Lets just pray that the rest of the summer is smooth sailing.

Yes, we are fortunate to have a good MPW crew. We could be like the quad cities where Midamerican has so much volunteer help they can afford to send away some because it's non union. And power is still out to many there.
