They have drilled up north, it is called the Alaska pipeline and how much came to the lower 48 states? If they give the oil company's the right to drill real cheap you may see $3.00 gas. Why are the refinery's operating at 85% instead of 100%? It all boils down to greed pure and simple.

Greed is a part of this but our own ignorance and seemingly inability to wean ourselves from all the conveniences that are related to oil are the real culprit. How much oil does it take to make those cute plastic bottles that water comes in? How many miles do we drive just for the heck of it? How much energy do we consume running our air conditioners when not really needed? How many of us are willing to give up our big trucks and suv's or luxury cars? No greed is not the only culprit in all this. We are our own worst enemies. The oil will run out some day. As long as we can continue to tighten our belts a bit, sacrifice the the stuff we really didnt need to start with, we will continue to pay the price because that is what we always do. Give some serious thought to how much "stuff" we can really do without. Start with the cable and internet bill. I am as dumb as the rest of us...I pay it every month just like you do.What did we do before all of this? Kind of crazy when you think about it. |
