  The problem your fella is having is the disease many have @ this age.  The "entitlement disease".  Oh, it's out there & it's infecting many, many of our "young adults".  He screwed up, did some time & was given  "short term",  very structured  rules to live by; "as nedl pointed out".  HE DECIDED that those rules didn't need to be followed.  Why?  HMMM...  because many of us want our athletes to perform & do what they do to help the team we root for succeed, and support them!  HELLO?

  The problem with this kind of thinking is this;  "Let them break a few rules, go wild & do what they want...we are getting what WE want!"  YEP... games are won!  SOOO? 

  As a society, is that the type of person we want our children to look up to, OR RUNNING the world?  Do YOU HAVE KIDS, NEWSY?  Do you want them to be moral, caring & upstanding citizens?  The only way a person will learn from mistakes is to live through it & deal w/ it.  Don't give him excuses.  He screwed up, not once, TWICE! 

  If so, don't idealize a BRAT that thinks that the rules don't & shouldn't apply to him.  THEY DO!   Want him to go to church for 8 weeks?  GREAT!  HELLO!  If jail didn't wake him up, why do you think church will?   Have him go to church, but still follow the very simple, moral codes the rest of us follow?  He didn't.  It really is just that simple. 

  My son is an athlete.  If he pulled this crap, My husband & I would be the first ones to call him on it...and he knows that. 

  I don't care how talented a person is.  Morality, truthfullness & integrity is how we all must live.  Your fella just doesn't have it.
