Muscatine

   For anyone who gas, Muscatine now has an E-85 gas station, located at the Shell Station right outside of Fruitland/Muscatine Airport.  It's located at pump #9, and, as of this writing (5/33/08), is selling for $2.79/gal.  A friend/neighbor of mine as the exact same new car as I bought, and tells me that he's only losing 2-3 mpg by using E-85 (vehicle equiped).  The rumor has been spreading, that you lose 9-10 mpg by using E-85.  Will try it out for myself.  $2.79 vs. $3.45?  Will have to give it a go and see for myself.  Just wanted to tell anyone who gave a ......!  Durant was the closest place until a while ago.  Tom.

Driving a flex-fuel? Well those ethanol prices are largely a result of subsidies... it doesn't help the economy much.  Drive a true hybrid and enjoy 40 MPG!

Maybe so Ryan, BUT, with E-85, the towel heads are making 85% less profit off of me!  I'm a Viet Nam Vet, and I have a little trouble making foreign countries, who are trying to kill/bury us, rich.  Everything in this Country has got some kind of subsidy linked to it!  Tom.
