El Allende is just plain nasty and their buffet didn't really have alot on it. We stopped going there about a year ago. Guadalajara was alot better even though thay were related, I think they cooked differently. The last time I got beef tacos at El Allende it had more carrotts and potatoes in it then it did beef. Sorry but I don't like it.

This whole post is very interesting. Someone posted that a full-time places closes to go serve the migrant community for the season.

That actually leads me to question some things....

If migrants are our poor and are using up all our resources in the local counties, how do they afford restaurant food daily prepared by the restaurant folks? Or am I missing something?

How does a restaurant close and afford to do this? If business bottom line is they key; then aren't they saying they make more money fixing food for migrants than actually opening doors to a restaurant for the Muscatine public?

And if all this is the case...maybe I need to invest in a taco truck or burrito trailer and tap into this profitable seasonal business.

Not denigrating any culture here; but I have always heard people crying about the poor migrants. If they are eating all this fine restaurant-prepared food some of you folks have bragged about,  daily, where does the "poor" factor enter into this? Also wonder what prices are being charged vs. what prices were in the restaurant proper?

Just questions; not accusations. Can anyone further enlighten me? Thanks.
