Woo Hoo I get to vent!! So much to complain about....where do I start Wednesday morning while driving my son to West 1. Fulliam....tailgaiter 2. In front of school....just like most mornings, instead of pulling into front lot, just pull over drop kids and pull right back out and drive BUT wait are there other cars on the street? HMMMMM they don't look or care...good thing some of us pay attention, I know others have had this happen to them. 3. Kindler, waiting at stop sign to turn on Newell, I look in rearview mirror and see a 3-4 yr old holding the dash and bouncing around UMMM seatbelt? 4. Little turn by Sinclairs between Newell and Lucas....isn't that only for Lucas to Newell? Guess that person was in a hurry so it was okay to take the little shortcut, maybe they didn't see the sign that said no left turn. This all was in about 5 minutes.... Still distracted and complaining to myself about all these people thinking they are alone on the streets or that we should all move out of their way because they are more important or late or whatever they are thinking...I missed my turn off Hershey. So I turn on the next street (stupid me) get to drive by another school...BUT there to my right is the crosswalk attendant, who has probably seen way more crazy driving than any of us LOL. He looks bored, (no kids around for him to look out for), soooo I gave him a big smile and a big wave! His bored look turned to a happy one, as he smiled and waved back. This guy is around 70 and probably volunteers and I have a feeling this doesn't happen often..I hope I made his day better, because I certainly felt better when he smiled that big smile back at me!!!! I think I will miss my turn at least once a week from now on!! So the lesson I learned ....as I am complaining and mumbling to myself about everything, I will try to find someone with a frown and see if I can get a smile on their face! I got an e-mail from a friend and have it taped by my desk... the best quote from it was: Every sixty seconds you spend angry, upset or mad, is a full minute of happiness you'll never get back. But it does feel goooood to vent.....LOL. |
