Missoula Montana-1990-Buck's place. Close. Animal heads and fish on all the walls. Spitoons. They had a juke box but had live bands on weekends. Women were allowed though. Free snacks. Were no fishing-hunting shows then like now. Free thermos fills of coffee for those on their way to work. Game feeds every so often. Venison, elk, etc. Yuppies and suits were allowed but not really tolerated. Actually I never saw a suit come in or any man wearing jogging shorts or the like.

I used to sit in a booth in the afternoons with a pitcher of beer and read the job ads. It was cool in there but never quiet.

Missoula Montana? Had a girl friend that went to collage there. I lived in Montana for Many years.

If you were drinking a pitcher while reading the Job ads you never got to finish the beer. Jobs are very rear in Big Sky country, but there's not a more beautiful state.

Sorry. It was 1980, not 1990. I was there when Mt. St. Helens erupted. Was supposed to start work that Monday planting trees. The Mt. erupted Sunday. It was like the thickest fog ever when the ash cloud hit. All street lights came on. Couldn't see them unless you were right by them. I never did get to plant trees.

Ahhhhhh, memories.......... I lived in Great Falls when Mt. St. Helens erupted. Left about a inch or 2 of ash on everything. Looked just like a grey snow.

Odd that you got a job planting trees. I spent the summer of 1980 cutting down trees. I've been so far back in the hills you'd swear that you were the only people alive. No city noise or lights. I will tell you that people that tell you the mountains are quite, have never spent anytime on them.

Peace
