Having gone through the catholic school system from '46 to '58, a dress code was in force then. Boys couldn't wear jeans. Had to be semi-dress pants at least. No shorts either, boys or girls. Button up shirts only.

Strange, that todays schools would draw the line in the sand at something like t-shirts, then ok the teaching of some of the crap I hear about.

School is for learning, not  for kids to "express themselves." If they want to wear that type of clothing, then wear it on weekends or after school. It seems that somewhere along the line people have forgotten that school is a kid's "job." Their job is to learn! What happens when these kids get into the real world? Do they think they can wear shirts with pictures of guns to a job in the corporate world?

And what is wrong with parents who condone such things? Why don't parents have the guts to tell their kids that they need to follow the rules instead of whining that their precious child is being picked on for not following the rules?

Well, we don't know if that school had a dress code or not. Schools should concentrate more on teaching, less on nit picking someone's dress.

Awhile back I needed to cash a check. I won't name the place I stopped but the young cashier took my check and I asked for a roll of quarters too. She counted out  the cash for the check handed over a roll of quarters then turned to wait on another customer. I waited there until she was done with them. I told her this isn't right, gave her back everything. This time she gave me the roll of quarters first, then counted out the full amount on the check.  She started to turn away and I said it still isn't right. Then I gave her a ten bill. She just stood there holding it looking at me. This time I walked away. No, she wasn't blond.
