The study Greg Orr did?
I am sure the Crown Vic uses more gas (BTW all government vehicles in Iowa have to use ethonol (sp?)) than Impalas of course the trade off could be weight and safety.
The officers that were hurt when the gas tanks exploded were rear-ended by other vehicles at high speed and the gas tanks were pushed into the electical equipment housed in the trunks of police vehicles, and the study of officers hurt which was commissioned by the Michigan State Police was over 5 years ago.
Why doesn't that happen to Crown Vics owned by civilans, because most civilans do not have the equipment hookups in the trunks, like light gear, radars (you know that darn radar trap gettin radar), radios, etc.
The price of the two cars is almost the same unless you considered the front wheel drive expense that comes from the extreme use of police vehicle operation has on front wheel drive cars.
Also is the S.O. still buying Impalas, might want to check that out?
No one doubts your knowledge, I just don't receive mine from google.
Thank you, have a good day.
