Understood that better then the techie story and can agree to a point. However I thought we were allowed to copy a % portion of any site as long as we weren't posting it 100%. This must not be the case. Or photos are different? Whatever the case, sorry.

No worries, was just trying to explain reasons why folks might not be OK with you guys pasting their photos into our discussion area, how they may prevent you from doing so, and make you aware that there was some controversy on the matter.  I'm no lawyer and am not qualified to say whether it's legal or not!

Nedl,

I was born very close to Brei's Standard station, and, when I first got my drivers license, gas was 19 cents/gal., with gas wars going down to 16 cents.  I remember Besisie's on 5th and Mulberry, and Eichenhauwers (sp?) on 2nd street.  Used to pick up my papers,   go to Ike's, play the pin ball machine (by the window), and be late by 2 hours to have my papers delivered.  I remember winning 23 free games on that machine in one day.  I was never  in the Grand Hotel, but, remember it well!  I remember at least 3 taverns being on EVERY block on 2nd St. from Walnut to Pine.  I remember the Orphium, and the Museue (I know that neither ones are spelled correctly.  I remember the   "original" Maid-Rite.  My grandmother used to play Bridge with the owners wife.  As I think, Orphium isn't right.  There was a theatre where Stanleys parking lot is at on Sycamore and 3rd, and the "other" theatre was by Mississippi Drive and Sycamore, across of Henderson Chevrolet/Olsmobile.  Do you remember the Buick dealership that was next to the Uptown?  Leu's, Wintermutes, Dog and Suds, A&W, and the bars/eateries on Park Avenue.  Can't remember the ones' name by Heinz Field, but used to eat there all the time with my folks, while I was going to JC.  (Coles' Inn).  Having brain farts!  How about the Rockabye Inn, Still have Bottles (empty) of St. Claire pop.  Baby mugs from the "Dog".  Racing go carts by the Cheri-Top, and, playing minature golf very close to the same location.  I remember the carnivals that they had down there (with the "peep shows").  Remember Park Avenue being a 2 lane road, with the cornfield where the Mall is now?  I remember taking the "City" bus to school.  Remember, they HAD City buses!  AND cabs.  Ok, so NOW that I have shown ALL, my age, I'll play with the smiley faces again.  God, I love those smiley faces!  Thanks again buddy, for turning me on to "the site".  Hello Tom...............................

Chugger Hi Tom. The theater where Stanley's parking lot is now was the Palace. I remember the same things. I hung out at Ike's, played pinball, shot pool in the Grand Hotel. Used to take the family to the bar on park ave on Friday's for pork sandwiches. (Rockabye)? Clyde Houser tended bar. Miller's trailor court on old 38. Hatfield's corner. Suddenly I have a craving for a pork sammich and a beer.
