How odd that your response to this tragedy is not for the victims, the surviving students, or even the citizens of DeKalb.  Your first thought is how the governor went wrong.   I don't agree with his thoughts on tearing Cole Hall down, but somany people (you and the Illinois governor included)...seem more concerned with how things look than doing what is truly best for everyone involved.

 What I'd do?  Do something....remodeling...build a memorial at the current facility, but don't tear it down.   It will always be a memorial.

 

Nedl, you need to get out more.  There IS life outside the ridiculously Republican world you live in!!!

I didn't say that the governor was right, but the fact tax payers would have to deal with the problem was.

a 40 year old building could have a time/place for demolition for a new and improved replacement, esp when you add the current emotional content factor.

it works for me. if the building was only 5 years old (it's not), maybe you could criticize the decision.
