The building where five students were killed in a shooting rampage at Northern Illinois University will be demolished.
Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich made the announcement on the NIU campus.
Cole Hall will be torn down and a new building built in its place.
According to the Governor, the new, $40 million state-of-the art facility will be named, Memorial Hall. He's working with two Republican state lawamakers from Sycamore, Illinois to work on the legislation for the funding.
Cole Hall, which was built in 1968, is slated for demolition this Spring. The new building is expected to open in late 2010 or early 2011
