Passing

Posted in: Muscatine
I found today a little time on my hands to read the on-line Muscatine Journal discovering an old friend and acquaintance had passed from this life into God's hands. As I read the obituary I realized how much we take for granted the time we have for life. Always so much to see and do; yet, never enough time to call upon an old friend and acquaintance to let them know we care and remember.

Sadly, I pulled out my high school annual and with watery eyes I gazed upon my old friend and dear acquaintance. ''This is how I wish to remember you'' I said in shallow whisper unheard to only my memory. With pen in hand I wrote beneath my friend's picture---'May God love you as I remember you. I apologize we didn't get to spend more time together during our lifetime. With God's blessing he will see fit to allow us the measure of a renewed friendship in our next incarnation.'

Should you find yourself with a friend or loved one you haven't spoke with in a while; take the time and consider doing so for time is in great demand, lest we easily forget those nearest to us with whom we care about.

Say your prayers, God bless us all.

I am the Toast of the Town.

It is a shame that we as humans

tend to take so many things for granted. ''There always is tomorrow.'' Till tomorrow doesn't come. It's not easy losing a family member or dear friend. The we feel guilty cause we didn't interact more. But I have always tried to believe that when one door closes another one opens. Perhaps it's an opportunity or a chance for new frienships. We just have to be able to see the door and want to walk through it to see what is on the other side. I am sorry for your loss, it is painful, but other things will open up for you. Just look and see. Take care my friend.

your friend was lucky, tot

To have a friend that loved them as the person he/she was. Don't we all wish that we could make some sort of a mark in this world, no matter how small? Your friend touched you @ a very important part of your life. Your prayer helped your friend know that they made a difference. There is no greater gift, except to share...& you did that. Thank you.
Many of us that read your post will think about your words & let the important people in our lives know. You have a kind heart. Your friend knows that, and we do too.
