Talk About Pushing Buttons

Lil....you have done pushed mine and I will do something about it. I won't go into all the details but hell is going to break lose with the Y. You have my email so send me some of the other details so I can get started. I promise you change.

In New Mexico, all branches of service came to my gym to use for testing recruits. The FBI, drug force people, the highway patrol all asked to use my facilities including the track and all were given permission. It is deplorable to learn about how the Y treated this situation.

You have me fired up and if you want to join in, just let me know. This has to change.

Please email me as many details as you can about this situation. I know members who can give a complimentory membership card for a couple of days to determine if the Y is for them or not. The least he could do as an employee would be to issue such a card. I know the Sergeant could have handled this in a number of ways but the way the employee at the Y handled it was not in the best interest of the community we live in. This needs to be addressed in the proper manner along with other concerns about the Y.

I know

I was just there the other day. I was going in to find out some information on getting a membership and getting my kids into swimming lessons. I was talking to a nice lady at the front desk and was ready to spend my money there with her.

There was another lady at the front desk that was getting kind of nasty with another customer that was there which I thought was wrong from the get go. Isn't the customer always right? Even if they are not right there is no reason to get nasty with the customer.

Well then I asked the lady I was talking to if I could just quickly run back and ask my cousin if she needed anything from the store since I was headed there and we both work together. She was kind enough to tell me that I could not but they could page her. However the other lady turned and looked at me and started yelling at me saying ''If you don't have a membership here this is as far as you can go in this building'' she was really snotty. I looked at her and said ''Thank you, I have just made up my mind on my membership here. I don't want myself or my children to have to deal with people as rude as you are. You have just lost my business for now, that is until they replace you with a kinder person.''

I know that this is a community Y well that is what they say, but unless you have almost $500 for a yearly membership for your family I guess your not part of the ''Community'' according to them. Businesses donate so much money to them to help keep the rates down but they just keep going up to keep the ''lower class'' out. That is how I feel anyways.

Know what you mean

I stopped in there a few months ago, probably almost a year now, to find out what kind of programs they had and their rates. I asked if they had any women-only exercise classes or anything tailored specifically for people who need to lose weight. The woman...I refuse to call her a lady!...looked at me and said, ''I believe you'd be more comfortable going to Curves. Their program is meant for overweight women!'' Obviously they don't want anybody overweight or not in perfect shape to sully their image either. Sad.
