Hey Lawdog,
Can other things be donated besides puzzles? Like cards, uno cards or such? Do they have to be new and unopened?
Also, just exactly what are the directions to place to donate?

You might want to give the Jail Admin a call before you run out and buy stuff or get anything ready to donate. Call 262-4190 and ask for R.D or Doug. They will be able to answer your questions as to donations for inmates.

Hey Lawdog, Can other things be donated besides puzzles? Like cards, uno cards or such? Do they have to be new and unopened? Also, just exactly what are the directions to place to donate? I'm pretty sure the answer is no, however those types of things are for sale in the commisary, so if there's a particular inmate you have in mind, stop by and put money on their books (inmates have a "bank account" at the jail). As for where to go, there are two places. The first is the main entrance straight off Walnut Street. During the day, approximately between 8 AM and 4 PM, you can drop stuff off with Brenda, the secretary. Outside of those hours, you'll have to use the south entrance, which is off the alley opposite the PD/FD, connecting Walnut and Cedar. The entrance is next to the large garage door closest to the court house. You'll have to push a button on the intercom and get buzzed in by the control officer. Fair warning though: you may have to wait for a bit before an officer can get to you, depending on what's going on inside. Meal times and weekend nights are never a good time, for example. |
