Muscatine

I really think that its horse crap that the Muscatine School District put our kids in danger today and did not at least delay school long enough to get the flippin roads plowed. the roads were still a majority snow covered this morning and I do not feel that the decision was properly made. Any one else?

Not the first time

It's not the first time the school district has done this.You turn on the tv in morning and see schools all over the area either canceled or delayed , but never Muscatine. If Muscatine does delay or cancel they are always the last ones to do it. One of these days a bus full of kids or someone is going to get seriously injured. They probably won't wake up and do anything until some one does.If the reason is we don't have that many buses ,that isn't good enough. Thousands of children have to get to school by parents or unexperienced teenagers drive themselves on dangerous roads.Parents start making your own decisions for your children. Maybe the school district will wake up and do something about it if half the kids start not showing up for school when the conditions are bad.

I always

decide when to take my kids to school or not. When I feel the roads are bad my kids stay home, until I think it is ok to go.
Funny thing is about all the schools delaying or being canceled is that the only accident reported this morning on the news was in Muscatine county. A semi jackknifed on hwy 22 crossing the railroad tracks.

Did I miss something?

I was out at 5:15am today driving to work. I didn't think the roads were that bad. I drove on main city streets as well, as side streets. The only reason I could think that the distirct might have delayed was to see if frezing rain might develope. I only took two calls asking about school. So, I guess other parents didn't think it was bad either.
Besides today is the start of ITBS and nothing stops ITBS.
