there are ''alternate forms of intervention''. Mine is called a permit to carry, not in my person in public a concealed weapon. Yes, to extreme for your situation, but who knows what someone comes across anymore....

I've heard rumors that a gun beats a club any old day! LOL! I am way too chicken to have a gun im my house because there are always too many young children in my home, AND I would definately be one in the stastic that had it used against her! You seem to know what you are doing.
Can I ask you a thoughtful question, (with ABSOLUTELY NO MALICE INTENDED)? Can I ask you for a thoughtful & honest reply? Please?
Had you been in DF's shoes, gun & all, would you have responded, (with gun hidden), & responded as DF did from the beginning & then, if need be, show the gun & use it if necessary?
I BELIEVE THAT YOU WOULD HAVE...some would not? A gun in a rightful hand, (like yours), members of our military & police can be a powerful weapon. In a hand like mine & many others, it's an absolute no way! Does my post make sense to you?
