The Morningside Historic District

A total lack of interest ...

Is everyone really so concerned with themselves that they truly just don't care, ..... about ..... anything??

I care.  I am closing on a house tomorrow, but my first choice was the historic Morningside area with its proximity to the bike trail.  My first choice in Morningside was a former group home on 46th avenue, but that house was snapped up before I could make an offer.  My second choice was next door to you.  I made a realistic offer, but rejected the seller's counter-offer.  The seller wants too much considering this is a buyer's market.  The house I'm closing on is in the Miller Beach area of Gary with a view of the lake (if I stand in the middle of the street, LOL).  It's more expensive than either Morningside house I viewed, but it's a better value in my opinion.

I love older homes and would love to help restore and maintain the beauty of Morningside.  However, I also pay attention to the current housing market.  I'm sure other buyers are equally as attentive, which can help explain why some homes remain empty for years.  Sellers also need to pay better attention to market trends.

Ken...i lived across the street and over a few houses from Joel. We were there at 120 from 1958-1983....still a great neighborhood in my opinion..even 30 years later.

Hey Joel. send me an email some time...we can exchange current info.
