website http://www.dmgateway.com/meetings.htm Checkout the Sept. 2001 minutes re: the grandiose plans for the park @ Gateway; heated stream, cascading waterfalls, enclosed rock climbing, etc. We fight for little park improvements in our neighborhoods where people actually live, and they want to spend millions, tear down an historic tax producing bldg., and put park $ into a place where almost noone lives (Hallett & Arlington are only there due to the work of preservationists). Gateway talks about kids flying kites ... what kids??? Greenwood doesn't need an amphitheatre, but they need a park downtown for the community??? More driving, pollution, gas usage, etc. but gramma doesn't have a park for the grandkids, this is backwards. Do the suburbanite workers need that much park for their lunch breaks? |
