May 18, 2010 Meeting

Due to primary elections being held today, our meeting location for this month was changed from the VFW Post to the home of our President and Treasurer.

Our annual Yard Sale will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 9:00 AM at 1017 Queen Avenue.  Tables are available for rent for $5.  We are in need of items to be donated.  Please contact Sherrie or Kim to set up a time/date to drop off items.  We will have the typical yard sale items (clothing, household items, etc) and will also have baked goods (cakes, cookies, etc).

During the Oaks and Derby there were several individuals providing transportation for people from their cars to and from the track in golf carts. We were told at one time that golf carts are illegal. We need to find out the policy and procedure for operating a golf cart on public streets for this purpose.

Project clean up will be held once again in October.  The date will be provided at a later time.

Insight Cable's public channel offers a community calendar.  We will be contacting them to find out about posting meeting information for the next LHNA meeting and consecutive meetings.  Also, we will look into creating/purchasing signs to post within the neighborhood boundaries to advertise upcoming meetings.  The signs will be placed out a few days before the meeting and removed that evening or the following morning.

We will contact the Courier-Journal to see if they offer free advertising for upcoming meetings in their free weekly Neighborhood publication.
