The Public is invited to either take part or just drop by and share in the activities. These activities are for the whole family no matter how young or young at heart you are come in and share with this Jefferson Heights community in the shadows of the AT&T Center. Jefferson Heights continue to involve itself in additional quality of life issues like water quality, air quality, voting rights, transportation, economic development, job creation, education, human development and sustainable growth and development issues making the Jefferson Heights community a great place to work, maintain a business, and a grand place to live!

Heritage District

Welcome to one of the finest Heritage Districts in the City of San Antonio home to the Jeffersonian. This central city community is a part of the Arena District/Eastside Community Plan adopted December 2003. The Jefferson Heights Association birth July 25, 2002 and continues to make news with it strides in a more livable, but sustainable growth and development of its central city community. Jefferson Heights were awarded the city's 1st Cultural Heritage District designation on February 16, 2005 becoming the city's very first such designated district by the City of San Antonio, COSA Planning Department, and Historic Design and Review Commission (HDRC). Jefferson Heights has a medium housing stock dating 1919 and moving forward in improving it's infrastructure, transportation, and rehabilitation. Resent improvements have been made to Lincoln Park Pool and we have begun to rehab our housing stock increasing our quality of life and contributing to added value of our city tax structure.

Historic Conservation & Preservation

Jefferson Heights Association geographical boundaries comprises of Jefferson Heights 1, 2, & 3; Dunbar Place; and Houston Heights. Jefferson Heights, vision is to become an extension to the Near Eastside (Downtown) and the 36 Historic Cemeteries making this a Historic Tourist Destination. Because Jefferson Heights lay between 3 major arenas (Alamo Dome, AT&T Center, and Freeman Coliseum), an active KOA, Red Berry Mansion, Willow Springs Golf Course, Salado Creek Hike & Bike Trails, Historical St. Philip's College, Historic Ellis Alley, Historic Hays Street Bridge, Historic Old Spanish Trails, Martin Luther King Statue & Plaza, Historic St. Paul Square and much more to include being within the original Historic 36 square miles of the City of San Antonio, Texas gives me many reasons to pause for great accomplishments by those in and around the Jefferson Heights community. Much of our history and efforts have been lost due to a lack of concern to preserve such history and the decay of neglect caused much of our housing stock to give way to demolition and many who came to this community in the earlier times have passed on leaving parse oral histories behind. With this new resurgence of enhancing our efforts to preserve history for those who will choose San Antonio as their tourist attraction we are in grand awe of being an active part of those preservation efforts. Come be a part of our family and grow with us in the shadows of exciting times in the Jefferson Heights community.
