ABOUT HICKORY FOREST

Hickory Forest addition started in 1995. The only street in addition in the beginning was Hickory Forest Dr. Shortly after the beginning of 1997, the developer (Jeff Moore) began to have another street "cut in", Hickory Hill Dr. There are a total of 39 lots in the addition, with only one lot that does not have a house. Over the years, the Homeowners Association has been the arm of the addition that is responsible for the enforcement of the restrictive covenants, the collection of annual dues, conducting annual meetings and maintaining an unpaid officer staff to manage the affairs of the association.

RESTRICTIVE COVENANTS

We maintain a set of restrictive covenants that apply to every homeowner in the addition. The covenants are necessary to keep our addition looking nice and continuing to be a premier housing addition in Eastern Oklahoma County. The covenants deal with issues ranging from construction of additions, outbuilding, pools, and fences,to lot restrictions, street parking, sprinklers systems and yards, and overall lot maintenance.

Every homeowner should have a copy of these restrictive covenants, and is expected to abide by the guidelines that are contained in them.

For building additions, garages, fences, pools, and outbuildings, it is necessary that BEFORE you begin construction on any of these things, that you submit a detailed plan to our ARCHITECTURAL COMMITTEE for approval. You are not to commence with construction until that approval is attained. The approval process is only to make sure that the addition develops in a uniform manner and that any building that you would propose will be in line with the look that is to be maintained in our addition.

If you do not have a copy of a set of restrictive covenants, please see a board member and they will see that you get a copy. Also, a PDF copy is available on this web site, so look for it here.
