Glendora Emergency Response Communications

GERC Ham Watch Nov. 1, 2004

Nov 02, 2004

FYI a small contingent of GERC hams provided a watchful eye over the Glendora Main Facility Monday, November 1, while a citizens protest demonstration was being conducted at the offices of Congressman David Drier just down the road. The Glendora Police were quite appreciative for our efforts and even gave us "Police - Do Not Cross" tape to place across the parking lot entrances. Special thanks to Roy, KG6RGD, Jim, KG6TQT, Keith KG6TPU, Carolyn, KG6RFJ, Ray, KE6DOJ, Ben, KG6SJF, and Andy W6LDS for their participation and/or assistance. Glendora Emergency Amateur Radio Service (GEARS) hams Jerry, KG6PLS, Clint, KQ6NJ, and Don, WA6KKR stopped by to offer their assistance, but were re-deployed closer to the demonstration by Officer John Schmidt, KB6NTS of the Glendora Police Dept.

No problems were encountered and the watch went smoothly.
