The Friends of NW 10th Street is a group of concerned business owners, neighborhood residents, property owners, and community service agencies/organizations that partner to work toward a positive future for NW 10th Street. To this end, the Friends have three purposes: 1) To share information and resources; 2) to advocate for community needs; 3) to organize for community improvement.
With the help of partner agency Oklahoma Commission on Children and Youth, a detailed survey of businesses, residents, and organizations in the area of NW 10th Street was conducted. The report will be posted on this website. The Friends of NW 10th Street recently adopted the survey results and recommendations and formed three task forces to work toward needed changes. The task forces are:
1) Safety and Security
2) Education, Family Support Services and Employment
3) Beautification
The task forces will each work on their own during the month and report back to the open board meetings held on the second Monday of each month at 4:30 p.m. Check the calendar for currently scheduled meetings, times and locations.
