Today we all got a flyer on our mailboxes from a plumbing company with this dire warning about polybutylene piping being installed in Frenchtown Woods and potential leak issues.  Any validity to this claim?

I believe when we bought our home 4 years ago, the inspector advised us of the pipes used.  He stated that if we did have any issues, the manufacturer of the pipes would be responsible for damages and replacement.  This is the best I know.

We looked into a class action regarding the PB plumbing (our house does indeed have it) and have noted that we do not qualify since the houses were build before the date of the action.  We were informed then that we have no course of action should there be a problem other than seeking compensation through home owner's insurance.  Multiple online plumbing sites say it's not a matter of if, but a matter of when it will break.  We've had two minor leaks so far, but no full bursts yet.  If anyone has additional info that may help, I would be grateful.
