Purpose Statement

Freedom: Danz Xpressionz is committed to educating students, parents, and the community in the hip-hop flavored art form of dance by enforcing positive lifestyles, nurturing relationships, and providing an avenue for giving back to the community through volunteerism, reasonably priced classes, and productions.

History

F: DX was founded in 1996 and is currently under the direction of Keichea A. Wilson. F: DX was created to provide training for performers in the hip-hop flavored art form of dance. It is Freedom's goal to capture both the traditional and non-traditional performer and audience by offering classes in everything from classical ballet to hip-hop tap.

Offerings

THE SHOW

Our annual dance concert held in June to highlight the talent of class participants and our three performing companies.

XPLORATION

A 5 week summer dance intensive. Xploration provides drop in master classes in ballet, jazz, modern, hip-hop and tap for youth ages 6 - 18.

FREEDOM: INK...THE COMPANY, THE X GENERATION, THE NEXT GENERATION

Pre-professional and professional dance companies for elementary students through adults. Admittance is gained through auditions held yearly. Dancers perform throughout Metro-Detroit and the United States. Rehearsals are held year round and performance opportunities are frequent.

PUBLIC CLASSES

Public classes for students age 3 - adult with indstruction in ballet, tap, modern, and jazz; all with a hip-hop flavor. Instruction is geared toward performing in the annual concert ''The Show''.

SERVICING MUSICAL ARTISTS/HAIR SHOW PERFORMANCES

Freedom: provides choreography for artists and stylists seeking a stage show.

DANCE CONVENTIONS AND COMPETITIONS

The three performing groups participate in local and national competitions and have traveled to Florida, Las Vegas, California, and South Carolina and won numerous gold and first place trophies.
