About Us

Five Points Neighborhood Assoc.

Basic Information

The Five Points Area is north of downtown. Within our neighborhood, you will find structures and locations with historical significance. Austin Elementary is the oldest school facility being used in San Antonio. In addition, we can brag that San Pedro Spring Park, the second oldest park in the country, falls within our boundaries. The original Hertzberg house, Mateo Camargo and Henry B. Gonzales homes are also found in our neighborhood. Our association is working toward preserving and restoring the history of our neighborhood.

About our association

Introduction

Although our neighborhood is one of the oldest in San Antonio, our association is one the most recently established. The Five Points Neighborhood Association was initiated November, 1998. We meet on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00pm at the Villa Tranchese Apts., 307 Marshall. Join us as we work toward achieving our goals and building a stronger voice in the community. You can reach me at 226-7706, Monday through Saturday, 9am to 9pm.

Volunteer Opportunities

We are trying to bring Cellular on Patrol to our area as one of the solutions to reduce the crime rate in our neighborhood. If you are interested in joining us on this venture please feel free to call. We also have a need for a translator to make this website, our flyers and our newsletter bilingual. We will also be looking for volunteers for various committees, and block captains to help deliver flyers. Let me know if you can help in any of these areas.
