I-465 Expansion Project

Update on 465

The website for “Accelerate 465” is www.in.gov/indot/div/projects/accelerate465/design/. This year the bridges on 21st Street, 10th Street, and Rockville Road are scheduled to be replaced. The 21st Street bridge will be totally removed but the other two will still maintain through traffic but modified access to I-465. The residents near to I-465 have voted to have sound walls installed and they will be at the conclusion of the project several years from now. The widening of I-465 will all take place on the east side of the highway so we won’t have major changes on our side. The traffic on I-465 will continue to be 3 lanes in both directions by utilizing the safety lanes. The traffic north of 10th Street will be shifted soon to one half of the highway for demolition and replacement of concrete. Come to the annual meeting for questions and more input.
