The other day I noticed the metal expansion joint was sticking up in the west bound lane on the bridge between 42nd & 45th and Blue Mound Rd. I have notified the city of this issue and they are checking into it. Please exercise caution when using this bridge. This issue can cause a flat tire or ruin your front end alignment on your car.

Thanks for letting us know. I use that bridge nearly every day and certainly do not need any damage done to my car. I get plenty of that in the spring with our lovely potholes. |

Well they took out the piece of metal but it looks like the hole is gonna get bigger. Also there is a small piece of tht bar that looks pointy sticking up slightly so still be careful. The road too is chipping away slowly as the trucks from Miller run over it. |

I have sent Alderman Murphy several emails about the bridge and the only response I got was that he was going to have his assistance come out to look at the bridge. I have also questioned him about the condition of Wells Street, the pot holes are horrible. From what I am understanding the city wants Miller to pay for part of the repair cost, but I believe Miller is refusing to do so. But I cannot confirm that this is the whole issue. In the meantime the road gets patched which I believe makes the street worse because when the trucks slow to a stop they just rut up the patches. I also noticed that there is a area where water is actually coming up from the road. I was told that there is a natural spring under the road. |
